Preface Chatter Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines as we gear up to the official start of Season 7! To start things off, the Rylai nerf certainly sent mid-lane into a tailspin, and things at the top are starting to look a lot different from what we remember at the end of Season 6. Meanwhile, the Colossus and Fervor changes are also changing the meta in some unexpected ways. It's still early in the patch though, so we'll keep a close eye on things as they progress. Stay tuned for more updates in the upcoming days, and check back soon to stay armed with the freshest game knowledge possible! As always, don't forget to if you haven't already! This is especially true for Tiers 2 and 3 where these champions are ALL highly playable and player dependent on how strong they are in-game. God Tier: These champions are almost impossible to keep down. If your team doesn't make it a priority to shut down these champions and shut them down hard, even if they lose their lane, lose in CS, and it's their first time playing the champion, they can be a massive nuisance for your team. On the other hand, if they're actually good at the champion... Tier 1: These champions generally do very well regardless, and have some sort of advantage over most other champions. When they do well, their team does well. Even when they don't do well, their team still has a good chance of a comeback victory by utilizing one or more aspects of their late game utility. Tier 2: This is the Tier of balanced champions where Riot shoots to place their designs. These champions generally do well in their own right, and are very strong picks with a good chance of winning. However, they're not overpowered by any means and do have their weaknesses. Tier 3: These champions can still do very well, but tend to need a little more snowballing to get rolling. Even if they get an early lead, it's still very possible to turn the tides on them with just a mistake or two. They may also have some weaknesses that can be capitalized on. Tier 4: These champions are either underpowered or offer less reward than other champions for the same amount of effort. These champions basically start winning from the get-go or get made fun of for the rest of the game. They need gold to do their job correctly, and if they don't get enough of it, they become sandbags for the enemy team to punch. Chances of a comeback with one of these champions feeding on your team is almost none. Unfortunately, he's not all the way back... As a result, he's just as dismal as he was last patch, if not more so. Although he can still be strong if he gets ahead, most of the time he's just not worth the trouble. However, Brand is a champion that is reliant on the Rylai slow to guarantee his stun landing. As a result of the reduced slow on his core, players are starting to miss more key stuns at clutch moments, resulting in a slightly poorer performance. He was always quite tanky, but now he has the damage to back it up as well. As a result, I'm leaving him where he is. We'll see how heavily he was affected as the patch goes on. As a result, his kiting playstyle doesn't lend itself to the straight-forward burst most players expect out of their mid laner. See for more details! At 40% slow with the old Rylai on his fling, enemy champions would quickly lose hope and give up chasing him. However, at 20% enemies try a little harder to catch the mad scientist only to fall prey to the poison trail. Meanwhile, and probably more importantly, the reduced cost allows him to pick up his tank items earlier, which greatly amplify his potential. The majority of his slow potential his poison trail is essentially unaffected as a DoT that always slowed by 20% anyway. As a result, Soraka is now stronger in comparison. Now that Rylai's is nerfed this patch, I think he's ready to be moved up to God Tier as a result of the pure havoc he can wreck on enemy teams and his super safe laning phase. Now, her mid-game is much more manageable and keeps her from snowballing into late game with ease.
